About the work
UNDUBBED. are an experimental and explosive musical unit, combining elements of electronic, ambient and breakbeat musics with their collective background in improvised and jazz music. Having met at NZSM in 2020, UNDUBBED. have been bringing groovy, explorative and dynamic Jazz Fusion to Pōneke since 2023, released an EP Once upon a Clyde in late 2024, and recently released the single Caiman in early November of this year.
UNDUBBED. On stage highlights communication between members, trust in the work they have already done together and excitement for what mischief they may get up to next. Often these antics are recorded and uploaded to their Instagram in short tasty whimsical videos

Blair Gowan
Keys
A versatile keyboardist. Blair is deep in Aotearoa’s music scene playing and recording with Boomtown, Big Sima, Mo Etc., LILA, Groove Council, and more. With roots in jazz and a love for hip-hop, he brings colour, chaos, and curiosity to UNDUBBED.
Ciaran Egan
Drums
Ciaran is a dynamic drummer known for his tight pocket, creative phrasing, and breakbeat-inspired style. A graduate of the NZ School of Music, he plays in multiple projects across genres—from funk and jazz to experimental grooves—fueling UNDUBBED’s rhythmic engine with control and fire.
Alex Cooper
Bass
Alex is a musician and bass player originating from Pukekohe. Since moving to Pōneke to pursue Jazz at the New Zealand School of Music, he has become involved in many experimental and genre pushing ensembles, combining his drive for freedom and expression in performance with an open ear that takes inspiration from all corners of the sonic world.
