About the work

Little Landscapes is a sensory and intimate theatre performance designed for young children and their grown-ups. Rooted in the textures and patterns of the natural world, the work invites audiences into a quiet, playful environment where tiny worlds unfurl and imagination meets memory.

The project is informed by Schema Learning theory, with a particular focus on enclosure, enveloping, positioning, and connection, patterns of play that naturally emerge in early childhood. These schemas are woven seamlessly into the performance structure, inviting intuitive engagement and gentle exploration.

Little Landscapes is crafted to feel both familiar and enchanting. It offers a moment of pause in a busy world, where children and their adults can come together in quiet creativity. The work honours the smallness of things, the detail of a leaf, the sound of a seed pod, and invites audiences to notice, touch, listen, and play.
