The Performance Arcade brings together visual arts and performance in a specially curated ‘exhibition-event’ of live art practices on Wellington Waterfront. An arrangement of shipping containers and scaffold structures provides a temporary architecture for this unique project, housing a bar space, a programme of live music and events, and new performance installations by NZ and International artists. Open 13 hours a day, this event is free to the Wellington public.

We call Wellington our home, but so do a lot of other species, as part of a complex urban ecology that is woven into pipes, cement streets, and towers made of glass, steel and brick.
While admirers of the pigeon are few and far between, its history is in fact interlaced with that of human civilisation. The pigeon boasts a fascinating range of talents and characteristics, as well as a remarkable loyalty towards its mate and its home.
Hello Pigeons is a performance in which Wellingtonians will have the opportunity to gain new insights on the omnipresent pigeon - and actually meet one, hold it, and let it
go - upon which it flies home.
Performances take place at 1pm daily in various outdoor locations in Wellington City, leaving from the Performance Arcade on the Wellington Waterfront behind Te Papa. Participants will be guided through the encounter; spectators around the performance are encouraged.
