Everybody Cool Lives Here

Everybody Cool Lives Here produces art that reflects and celebrates Aotearoa’s unique and diverse identity. They connect artists and groups and empower them to create dialogue within the wider community to bring the marginalised to the middle and support those at the fringes to drive the conversation. Active since 2012, this group of artists has produced award-winning theatre, event designs, and workshops. Highlights include the award winning 'Wake Up Tomorrow' (2014) at Circa Theatee, and 'Big J Stylez' (2018) for a national tour of NZ.

Within Samoan culture, the 'taupou' is the ceremonial hostess selected by the village chief to elevate the formal reception of visitors to a village or place. This piece investigates the symbolism and beauty standards that these roles portray by inviting Lusi Faiva to play this role at the opening of The Performance Arcade 2019..
