FORECASTING / AND AGAIN
With direct reference to Chris Burden’s 1974 performance piece TransFixed, from 1-4 March the durational performance piece Forecasting (2018) sees Bragg tied to the hood of a 1991 Toyota Corolla atop a shipping container. Inside the container below, the performance based video And Again addresses the audience on love, loss and longing, as the artist endures the elements above. With an ex-lover behind the wheel And Again sees Bragg on the hood of a car driving endlessly in circles, audibly repeating the phrase –
"And again, the sun rose on the next day. When your back is turned, the day does not turn away, Always the same. Love is absolution, ‘persecution’, ejaculation, always the same".
