Infused with indie-soul, contemporary jazz and indie-pop sonics, Pōneke local Alba Rose performs a set of original tunes live with her band. Her timeless tales, spun with vitality and groove, Alba digs into an eclectic composition for warmer days and slower nights.
Alba Rose is an indie-soul singer-songwriter currently based in Wellington, New Zealand. Alba has spent the last five years based in Wellington working on a wide variety of musical projects. Formerly the lead singer of the Wellington band ‘Corduroy’, Alba has spent the past year working on her debut EP under her solo artist identity which was released in November of 2021. With her music embodying elements of neo-soul, jazz and contemporary, her work is a project of expression, exploring ideas of growth, change and romance. Having performed across the country to sold-out tours and performances at New Zealand festivals including Rhythm & Vines, Bay Dreams and Festival of Colour, with up-coming performances at Le Currents and Tora Bombora across the summer of 2022, Rose’s music provides an eclectic composition of genres and influences, suitable for all hours of the day. She performs live with her band consisting of ex Te Kōkī School of Music students Rory Johns (keys), Elijah Mulheron (double bass), Rafe Swan (drums), Tyaan Singh (sax).
